Dorothea Bethea Irving was born on 23 January 1919 in Poona India. (Parents Sir Miles and lady Irving). She had an elder sister Margaret and a younger sister Hilary. Her brother Michael died in infancy. After a variety of work including nursing and driving ambulances during the second world war, she went on to train as a doctor becoming a consultant anaesthetist. This was at a time when succeeding in the medical profession required determination if you were a woman. She was married to Philip Edward Halstead. At the point of her death she was 50.She had a house quite close to St. Peter's Church and thoroughly enjoyed the Suffolk coast and countryside.Although I have images of this grave taken at various times, i would appreciate another.
